Ponte Vedra Writers of FWA

Presented by Florida Writers Association, Ponte Vedra Beach Chapter at Ponte Vedra Library

M.W. Gordon taught law for four decades before turning his fly fishing hobby into a series of mystery novels. Along the way he learned that each decision a writer makes impacts the finished product. Gordon will share the lessons he’s learned in a presentation he calls “Don’t Write Like I Write” at the meeting of the Florida Writers Association’s Ponte Vedra Writers on Saturday, October 18, 10:30 a.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library.
During his teaching career law, Gordon authored dozens of books and articles, traveling widely for the State Department and Council of Foreign Relations. When he stopped teaching, Gordon built a wooden drift-boat named Osprey, and became a fly fishing guide. That’s when the idea of writing a novel about a fly fishing guide who was once an international law professor, but after some clandestine work in Guatemala was placed in a protection program with a new name - Macduff Brooks - and new locations - Montana and St. Augustine.
