Join the Ancient City Poets for some scary literary fun and enlightenment. This free-of-charge series happens on the last Sunday of each month for poets of all skill levels to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. All are encouraged to dress up as their favorite author or book character and share well written words that relate to the season (Harvest and Halloween). In order to offer an opportunity for those in costume who are not poets, the open mic will be extended to allow short prose pieces. Copies of books by local authors will be awarded for costumes in three categories: Scary Literary, Dead Poet and Best Teen Costume. The open mic readings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet. Robert Waldner will kick off the gathering at 3:00 pm and it will end when everyone has had an opportunity to share.
