Stories From the Creek: A Puppet Show and Workshop

Presented by St. Johns County Public Library - Main Library at The Waterworks

Stories from the Creek is a puppet show about stream ecology told through the eyes of a child. Learn about local stream ecology and the importance of the flora and fauna that dwell in these ecosystems through hand and shadow puppets. Following each performance is a puppet-making workshop for audience members to make their very own puppet. Recommended for children Pre-K – 5th grade.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Morgan Kelly is a teaching artist and puppeteer based in St. Augustine, FL.  She has worked in arts education for 17 years, bringing a unique blend of puppetry and visual arts to a wide variety of communities.  As a teaching artist, she has worked in public and private schools, after-school programs, summer camps, museums, libraries, and arts centers.  She has travelled nationally and internationally bringing original puppet work to a variety of performing arts venues and festivals. She is the recipient of several art education grants for her work, including State of the Arts Grant (FL) and Greene County Council for the Arts Grant (NY). Morgan served as an Artist in Residence for the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY, developing original puppet work and doing arts outreach in the special needs community. Morgan's educational background includes a BA in Theatre from Marlboro College and an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University.

The Waterworks is available through the generosity of the City of St. Augustine and the St. Johns Cultural Council.
