Marlene Zullig - at P.A.St.A. Art Gallery

Presented by PAStA Fine Art Gallery at Professional Artists of St. Augustine (P.A.St.A.) Fine Art Gallery

Stained glass and jewelry artist, Marlene Zullig, Featured Artist for December at P.A.St.A., and her little Boykin Spaniel, Libby, are a familiar sight walking and jogging along the shoreline of Butler and Crescent Beaches.  Marlene says that this is her quiet time when she is surrounded by the beauty and sounds of the ocean that give her so much inspiration.  She uses this special time to gather unique shells, shark's teeth, sea glass, fossils, and other found objects that she uses in her mosaic art and jewelry.

Marlene holds dual Swiss/U.S. citizenship and looks forward to the big family reunions in the Swiss Alps where she gathers her old world-inspiration which is often reflected in her art.  She was first introduced to the art of stained glass and metal crafting while living and working in Switzerland.  She continued to push the limits of glass art through courses in New Jersey and New York.  Along the way, she combined a 25-year career in teaching gifted education and media education with an active career in art.  She holds a B. S. in education, an M.L.S., and certification in teaching Gifted Education.

Marlene's award-winning art is an eclectic mix of functional art (lamps, mosaic mirrors, vessels, jewelry) and one-of-a-kind stained glass windows, panels, and fused glass pieces.  She believes that glass art is tactile and should be touched and enjoyed.  Her work reflects a sense of eminent care in attention to detail from the hand-cut, high quality stained glass that she uses to create her art to the handmade frames she makes for many of her custom pieces.  Her work graces homes and businesses both here and abroad.

Marlene resides in beautiful St. Augustine with her husband Charles and little dog, Libby.  She is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association and board member of AGOSA and President of the P.A.St.A. (Professional Artists of St. Augustine) Fine Art Gallery, St. Augustine, Florida, where her art can be viewed.
