Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch: Amistad - Friendship and a Fair Trade Store

Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch: Amistad - Friendship and a Fair Trade Store

Presented by Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine at Unknown

International educator Dr. Susan W. Herrera of St. Augustine believes that hunger, inequality and poverty could be reduced one small business at a time. Her “Fair Trade” store, Amistad, or “friendship”, newly relocated to Anastasia Island, brings to market beautiful objects and jewelry made by artisans from around the world, helping to improve their lives. Join the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine for Dr. Herrera’s presentation about Fair Trade and enjoy the opportunity to shop for gifts among the quality hand-crafted products she brings from her store. Amistad features decorative dinnerware and cups, clothing, jewelry and art. Friends volunteers will gift-wrap purchases and a percentage of the sales will be donated to benefit the library. Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch. Beverages and snacks will be provided. For more information contact Friends president Toni Siriani at toni825@hotmail.com.
