Golfer Raymond Floyd at Book Talk Cafe

Golfer Raymond Floyd at Book Talk Cafe

Presented by Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library at Ponte Vedra Library

Golfer Raymond Floyd has been quoted as saying, “They call it golf because all the other four letter words were taken.” Despite the frustrations of the game, it’s still a popular sport enjoyed by millions, and former golf industry executive David Hueber has written a book about his experiences in the business and the people he worked with. Hueber will discuss his book, In the Rough: The Business Game of Golf, at the Ponte Vedra Library’s Book Talk Café program.

Hueber worked for the PGA TOUR as Vice President of Marketing under Deane Beman, and later was president and CEO of the National Golf Foundation before moving on as the top executive of the Ben Hogan Company.

In the Rough is an insider’s view of the game of golf and how it has evolved over the years. The book is filled with stories about some of golf’s most famous icons, like Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Deane Beman.

Both the most serious and the occasional golfer will enjoy this insider’s take on the game. As  with all Book Talk Café programs, the author will sign copies of his book and light refreshments will be served.
