A poetry reading to celebrate the launch of Florida’s new literary journal will be held on Sunday January 25 from 3:00 to 5 PM at City Coffee Company, located at 1280 N Ponce De Leon Blvd (near the Village Inn). The inaugural issue of A.C. PAPA (an acronym for Ancient City Poets, Authors, Photographers and Artists) features a cover by nature photographer Mark Kirwan and contributions of poetry, personal essays, photos and fine art by more than 50 artists. “A.C. PAPA will be a once a year outpouring that will spotlight the best writings, photos and art from locals and out-of-state artists who have something to say about the Sunshine State,” says Editor-In-Chief Chris Bodor. The open mic will start off the event and the community is welcome to share poems or short observations about Florida. Local contributors will then take the mic at 4:00 pm to share their pieces using the journal’s table of contents as a guide. An author meet-and-greet and book sale will follow and contributors will be available to sign copies.
