April’s walking tour will focus on the building of the Alcazar Hotel and how its original design by Carrère and Hastings was never fully completed. The tour will include subsequent additions and re-modeling as the hotel building transitioned from a hotel to a museum, then later to a museum and City Hall complex. The Curator will be speaking about needs for restoration of the original features of the Hotel Alcazar.
Tours are included in the price of admission and begin in the front lobby of the Museum at 10am the first Wednesday of each month. Admission is free for St. Johns County residents with valid identification.
Donations are appreciated and will be accepted after the tour.
