BFA & BA Spring 2017 Senior Portfolio Exhibtion

Presented by Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College at Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum and Flagler College are pleased to present our spring exhibition of work by the college’s graduating B.F.A. and B.A. candidates from the Department of Art and Design. The exhibition will open with a reception on Thursday, April 27 from 5 until 8pm. It will be on view on Friday, April 28 from 10am until 4pm and on Saturday, April 29 from 11am until 1pm. This event is free and open to the public.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts Portfolio, is led this semester by Associate Professor Laura Mongiovi. Artist Savanna Eleanoire Jones is exhibiting whole ceramic sculptures that have shattered, and pieced back together, that stand as an allegory for brokenness, perseverance and subsequent healing. Adrian Gonzalez’s installation explores his interest in the conflation of commercial and religious dogmas, and how those concepts can dominate personal perceptions and “work in tandem to sell salvation.” Nicki Smith’s utilizes latex, paint and ink sculptures to make organically shaped sculptures, resembling organs and biological systems. April Webb has created textile objects and performative videos that examine domesticity, in an attempt to reconcile her identity as a mother and feminist. Maria Toto’s observational paintings focusing on everyday moments and spaces, become a catalyst in which to reflect her own humanity, and subsequent sense of spirituality.

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Sara Pedigo, the Bachelor of Arts exhibition will include painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, installation and video by BA candidates Bonn Antonetti, Alex Barnes, Rachel Blankenship, Andrea Broaderick, Lauren Gonzalez, Stephanie Harlow, Amanda Jones, Veronika Wright.
