Acclaimed American author, screenwriter, and television personality Rod Serling (1924-1975) is best known as one of science fiction’s greatest legends, primarily because of his Emmy Award-winning television series, The Twilight Zone. However, some of his stories crossed into the realm of maritime history and lore. Underwater archaeologist, Joseph W. Zarzynski, was a student of Rod Serling when the Hollywood luminary taught at Ithaca College in upstate New York. He will present a special talk examining Serling’s literary incursions into “The Maritime Zone,” on Tuesday, February 10, 6:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library.
