Suspense is a vital ingredient in today’s fiction. It adds to the tension and drama of any story, and keeps the reader turning pages. Mystery author Vic DiGenti (aka Parker Francis) will share some of the secrets for creating suspense in his presentation, “The Suspense is Killing Me,” at the meeting of the Florida Writers Association’s Ponte Vedra Writers on Saturday, February 28, 10:30 a.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library.
DiGenti says, “Suspense is all about anticipation, keeping the reader guessing about what will happen next.” He’ll illustrate a number of techniques for ramping up the tension and raising the stakes through the use of suspense. He’ll also show how “the master of suspense,” Alfred Hitchcock, kept audiences in a constant state of anticipation in his films.
