Jennifer Swanson believes science rocks. And her readers love how she makes learning fun. The award-winning author of over 25 nonfiction books for children will present “Capturing an Editor's Attention through Innovation” when she speaks to the FWA Ponte Vedra Writers group.

With this interactive talk, Jennifer will show writers how adding innovative voice, structure, and point of view can grab the attention of an agent or editor and get them noticed. She lists the following as important points people will take away from her talk:

1) You will see real examples of out-of-the-box voice, language, and tone that work in children's books

2) You will get ideas of how to use these unique approaches in your own work

3) You will get a better idea of what editor's are looking for in children's books

Jennifer's passion for science (she has a B.S. in chemistry from the U. S. Naval Academy, and an M.S. Ed. (K-8) in science) resonates in in all her books but especially, BRAIN GAMES (NGKids) and SUPER GEAR: Nanotechnology and Sports Team Up (Charlesbridge) which was named an NSTA Best STEM book of 2017 and an NSTA Outstanding Trade Book 2017.
