Harvest Time at Fort Mose

Presented by Florida Living History at Fort Mose Historic State Park

As part of Florida Living History, Inc.’s (FLH’s) 2015 “St. Augustine’s 450th Anniversary” commemorations, FLH’s volunteers - in partnership with Fort Mose Historic State Park and the Fort Mose Historical Society - will present 18th-century, historical interpretation focusing on harvest-time in colonial Spanish Florida.  FLH volunteers will illustrate the food and foodways of 18th-century Fort Mose and St. Augustine.  Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first, legally sanctioned free black settlement in the continental U.S., established in 1738.
