The Professional Artists of St. Augustine Art Gallery (P.A.St.A.) will be featuring the work of artist/photographer John Roppolo for the month of August.  A long-time member of the co-operative gallery, he will be showing recent work in mixed media and collage.

Roppolo's non-objective work exhibits a juxtaposition of elementary geometric forms, color and textured surfaces.  These combined with found objects and ephemera, gives a feeling of formal elegance to the work.  His art has been recognized for its unique style and attention to detail.  As for inspiration for his work, he says, "the inspiration comes from varied sources and life events, but mostly form within."

John Roppolo received his M.F.A. and B.F.A. from S.U.N.Y. at New Paltz School of Fine and Performing Arts.  He has taught art and photography at both the college and high school levels.  His work has been exhibited in several one person shows in the Northeast and has received numerous awards and honors in both photography and art and is a multi-award winner both locally and regionally here in Florida.  His work is represented extensively in both private and corporate collections around the country.
