FIRST FRIDAY ARTWALK

FIRST FRIDAY ARTWALK

at Unknown

In addition to the 25 local and regional artists represented by Amiro Art & Found, the gallery welcomes the work of Virginia artist Wendy Wrenn. In a fast paced culture that is often removed from nature, Wendy believes it is in the use of handmade objects that we can slow our pace and reconnect with the world around us. I former high school biology teacher, Wendy states that clay has taught her how to integrate a voice of spirit and intention in her work. The pottery is fully functional and engages the user visually and tactically through the daily rituals of preparing, serving and sharing food. The forms and patterns of nature are explored in her work, moving towards a more organic appearance as an alternative to the perfect circle of the potters' wheel. Join us on pedestrian friendly Aviles Street in the Original Art District on First Friday Art Walk May 1st 5-9 pm.
