Florida Living History, Inc. (FLH), in partnership with the National Park Service’s (NPS’s) Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, will commemorate the founding of the Castillo de San Marcos on October 2, 1672.  In conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month, volunteers from FLH and the Castillo de San Marcos will honor this key date in American history - 345 years later, on the very site - with day-long interpretations and demonstrations on the construction of the Castillo, culminating in the 3PM re-enactment of the 1672 “ground-breaking” ceremony.
