Flight to Freedom

Presented by Florida Living History at Fort Mose Historic State Park

Travel back in time and experience the journey to Fort Mose!  Celebrating Black History Month, the volunteers of Florida Living History, Inc., will participate in this unique, living-history Event, which retells the stirring saga of travelers fleeing from slavery in the English colonies to freedom in Spanish Florida on America’s original “Underground Railroad.”  Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first, legally sanctioned free black settlement in the continental U.S., established in 1738.
