Peter Rumpel, whose innovative sculpture, paintings and computer art complement his professional accomplishments as an architect, will be the featured artist at Butterfield Garage Art Gallery during the month of June. An opening reception will be held June 5 at the gallery from 5 until 9 p.m. during St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walk.

A graduate of the University of Florida's School of Architecture, he served as an adjunct and visiting professor and distinguished lecturer from 1982-1992, and was visiting associate professor in 2008. He has won more than 60 local, state and national awards for design excellence and received a lifetime achievement award in 2002 from the American Institute of Architects.

Rumpel has exhibited widely in museums and galleries throughout North Florida, and his public art commissions include Jacksonville’s Cancer Survivors Park and Ed Austin Regional Park.

The exhibition will continue through June 30 at Butterfield Garage Art Gallery, 137 King Street, St. Augustine.
