SHINE! A Musical Theatre Showcase” will feature young artists (ages eight to 18) from the Northeast Florida area presenting a variety of performances developed during the Fall training sessions at Apex Studio located at 5150 Palm Valley Road in Ponte Vedra Beach.

“Our Fall Showcase allows each member of the company a moment all their own onstage, so we decided to call the evening ‘SHINE’,” remarked Ian Mairs, managing director of Apex Theatre Studio. After a rowdy pre-show presented by the student improv troupe Wackadoodle, under the direction of instructor and Second City Comedy alumnae Robert Reid, the show commences with a fast-paced medley of songs from “Billy Elliott,” the story of a young boy who dreams of escaping his small town to pursue a career as a professional dancer. The evening concludes with a collage of songs from the musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein including numbers from “The Sound of Music,” “South Pacific,” “Cinderella” and “Oklahoma.” Members of all three levels of musical theater workshops will be featured in the showcase under the direction of David Loudermilk and Anna Dvorak. Running time for the performance is 90 minutes with one intermission.

Apex Theatre Studio is a non-profit performing arts training center celebrating its fourth year in operation. Apex fosters young artists with a passion and curiosity for acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft through a series of master classes, intensives, readings and theatrical presentation.
