This summer, Butterfield Garage Art Gallery and the Council on Aging are teaming up to offer a unique opportunity for grandparents and their grandchildren above age 10.   “Modern Vintage” is a four-week art course to be offered on Sundays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Butterfield Garage Art Gallery, June 14, 21, 28 and July 12.  

With a focus on still life paintings in oil pastel, the course will be taught by Joyce Hutchinson, professional artist and art teacher, and Tanya Engelhard, professional artist and art therapist. The grandparent will create a still life with vintage subject matter, and the grandchild will produce a still life of modern subject matter.  They will collaborate on a final piece that will be framed and hung for a month at Butterfield Garage.  Opening reception for artists and their families will be Friday August 7.
