A look into Viking life and culture will be presented at the Southeast Branch Public Library on Saturday, November 4 at 2PM. The event is free and will feature information about Viking clothing, tools, crafts, and stories! The demonstration is being presented by the Canton of Lion’s Bridge a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism which is a medieval and renaissance recreation educational organization.
Local artisan Chuck Dale will show some of his award winning skills and the research and learning that takes place. Chuck has made a Nordic bucket and had to make the tools to create the bucket, he will also show bone implements including needles, some blacksmithing. There will also be some information on the Viking Runes as well as tales from long ago.
