Explore the elements of Still Life Painting, including shapes, textures, composition, color and light and how they combine to create a vibrant, flowing painting. Through object selection, placement and point of view, students will also develop a narrative for the work. This two-day workshop of demos, individualized instruction and critique is a fresh approach to classical still life painting, encouraging experimentation with the palette, surface and application tools. Suitable for emerging and seasoned artists working in oils, acrylics or pastels. Students will work from observation and may use personal objects. John Gamache is a master artist and accomplished instructor, schooled in the traditional style in Massachusetts. His work has won awards from the Oil Painters of America, Society of Illustrators and Portrait Society of America, among others
