Presented by A Classic Theatre at St. Augustine Beach City Hall

Auditions for the St. Augustine Premiere of THREADS OF SILVER AND GOLD: Women of the Panama Canal, a new play written and directed by Deborah B. Dickey in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Panama Canal.

Auditions will be held at the St. Augustine Beach City Hall, located at 2200 A1A South, on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 from 7-10 pm.  Performances will be in October of 2015. Actors will be asked to read from the script and should bring a current photo and a list of previous experience.

The multi-ethnic cast includes roles for 2 men and 6 women. With the exception of the role of Theodore Roosevelt, all other actors play multiple roles as the play shifts from the construction period in Act 1 to 1987 in Act 2.  Other characters are: (1) Male African-American or Latino actor, (3) African-American or Latino women and (2) White American women and (1) British woman. Age range for all actors is from 20-60.
