Dr. Wesley Moody discusses the “Seven Myths of the Civil War” at the Ponte Vedra Library’s PV Forum program on Tuesday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Readers of Dr. Wesley Moody’s new book will discover that much of what they thought they knew about the U. S. Civil War is wrong. Dr. Moody will discuss the Seven Myths of the Civil War in a Ponte Vedra Forum program, Tuesday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library.
The book tackles enduring Civil War myths and explores a wide range of subjects including the war’s causes, soldiers, leaders, Sherman’s “March through Georgia,” and battlefields. Seven Myths of the Civil War contains essays by various historians revealing more satisfying stories hidden beneath Civil War falsehoods.
Wesley Moody is a professor of history at Florida State College at Jacksonville. He has a PhD in American History from Georgia State University. He is the author of four books on the American Civil War, including the latest, Seven Myths of the Civil War.
The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library make the Ponte Vedra Forum program series possible. It is free and open to the public.
