The Witness

at Unknown

In "The Witness" you meet Beauregard Stuart Lee, a self-confessed, former racist. He is interviewed by MJ Townes (Nanette Weaver), for a TV Documentary. During the interview he will speak of the many acts of racist thuggery in which he participated in St. Augustine FL. Many do not know that St. Augustine (the only city in Florida where Dr. King was arrested) was one of the most violent cities in the nation, during the Civil Rights struggle of the 1960s.

Woven into the drama are remembrances of King, Andrew Young, Ralph Abernathy John Lewis, Rosa Parks, local hero Dr. Robert B. Hayling and more.  One hundred photos accompany drama in power point presentation. There is a fictional love story related that offers a convenient device for the very real, non-fiction story of racism in America.
