In 2000, Gary Mullen won Great Britain’s ITV’s “Stars In Their Eyes” live grand finale with the largest number of votes ever received on the show. The record 864,838 votes were more than twice that of the runner-up. Mullen began touring on his own and in 2002 formed a band The Works, to recreate and pay tribute to the rock legends that are Queen. Since 2002, Gary Mullen & The Works have toured non-stop around the world, performing at theatres, arenas and festivals to sell-out crowds in the UK, Germany, France, Holland, USA, New Zealand and South Africa. One Night of Queen has been invited twice to perform at the BBC “Proms In The Park” event in Hyde Park, London alongside Andrea Bocelli, Katherine Jenkins and Las Vegas legend Barry Manilow. Being described as “the highlight of the day” and receiving rapturous applause from 45,000 fans, cemented their reputation as being “much more than a tribute”.
