The author of Amelia Earhart: The Truth At Last, discusses the Amelia Earhart mystery at a Ponte Vedra Forum program on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library.
Mike Campbell is a former active-duty Navy journalist and Air Force public affairs officer, and a 1974 graduate of the University of Maryland. After meeting Thomas E. Devine, author of Eyewitness: The Amelia Earhart Incident in 1988, Campbell became convinced that Devine, Fred Goerner, and other Earhart researchers were correct when they proclaimed the presence and death of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan on Saipan. With Our Own Eyes: Eyewitnesses to the Final Days of Amelia Earhart, written in collaboration with Devine, was published in 2002.
Amelia Earhart: The Truth at Last, published in 2012 by Sunbury Press, with an improved and updated second edition released in March 2016, greatly expands upon the eyewitness accounts of former American GIs who participated in the 1944 Battle of Saipan presented in With Our Own Eyes, and presents the most focused and compelling case for Earhart and Noonan’s demise on Saipan ever written.
The Ponte Vedra Forum program series is presented by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library, and is free and open to the public.
