During the month of April the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club will feature the paintings of local artist, Phyllis Bachand. Ms Bachand’s current work is a series of contemporary florals in oil and mixed media.
Ms. Bachand's work has been exhibited in galleries in New York, Chicago, Washington, DC and Toronto. Her paintings are richly layered and show the history of the painting, often exposing traces of preliminary drawings. "In my paintings I try to project a sense of beauty but with a force of energy and vitality. I like to expose the physical nature of the paint and it's application. I want to give the viewer reason to pause for reflection and time to study the work."
Ms. Bachand is represented in Ponte Vedra by Stellers Gallery.
