Hilarity ensues when Shari, drama teacher, is arrested for being a Thespian. This is a comedentary (comedic documentary) of a true and wild story about unjust arrest.
Shari Little and a cast of 20+ talented St. Augustine actors will stage this tale: THESPIAN, ARRESTED, on Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center at 102 Martin Luther King Ave., St. Augustine. Tickets are $15, available at the door, or in advance on Eventbrite.
You can’t make this stuff up! This is a story that begs to be told not just orally, or in writing, but in theatrical form.
The events of the play are true, with just the right amount of artistic license. The story feels like a Seinfeld episode, but instead of it being “a show about nothing,” the show is about how being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, can lead to dire consequences. However, be prepared to laugh at verbal, physical, and situational comedy!
“It’s all about the people,” said playwright Shari Little, a St. Augustine resident encouraged by friends to write a play about her unjust arrest more than 20 years while taking her drama students to a state Thespian event in Miami.
