Milinda Jay Stephenson will conduct a hands-on, all-day workshop, guiding participants through the process of turning family stories into fiction.
Milinda Jay Stephenson's belief in the transformative power of story inspired "Telling a Story that Matters," a memoir workshop in which participants experiment with the bulding blocks of successful storytelling. Participants will learn to apply the insights of Lisa Cron, author of the book "Story Genius" and her study of the effect of story on the human brain to their own creative process. By the end of the day, participants will have an outline or guide to their story.
This all-day workshop, sponsored by the Florida Heritage Book Festival, will be presented on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library from 9:00am until 4:00pm. The workshop cost is $85.00 and includes lunch. Workshop registration is available online at the FHBF website: www.fhbookfest.com.
