The St. Augustine Community Chorus, which has been in existance since 1948, is a non-profit organization that depends on ticket sales and donations for support.  Our mixed chorus is comprised of local and regional amateur singers from around the region who love good music and enjoy sharing it with audiences.

The chorus traditionally presents three concerts a year beginning with a December holiday program which includes themed festive music during the first half of the program and concludes with the Christmas portions of Handel’s Messiah.  The mid- March “Pops” Concert often features popular songs and show tunes.  The season concludes with the Masterworks program in Mid-May featuring major choral works during the city-wide Romanza Festivale. Concerts are held at the Cathedral Basilica, St. Augustine High School Performing Arts Center and/or Ancient City Baptist Church.

We encourage new choir members in all voice parts, and are especially interested in singers for both tenor and bass sections. New singers are welcome throughout the year at the beginning of each season!  No auditions are required, but regular attendance is expected. To join, simply come to one of the first scheduled rehearsals, at which time you will be asked to sign in, pay dues, and receive music. Membership dues are $25.00 per concert (to help defray costs).  The rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with a 6:50 PM warm-up time.
