The St. Augustine Archaeological Association (SAAA) represents the City of St. Augustine and the northeast Florida region (St. Johns, Duval, and Flagler Counties). SAAA was founded in 1981 to provide volunteers to support the City of St. Augustine’s Archaeological Preservation Ordinance.

SAAA operates as a Florida chartered not-for-profit organization and is a chapter of the Florida Anthropological Society. This is a group of professional and avocational archaeologists interested in the preservation and interpretation of Florida’s rich archaeological resources and cultural heritage, especially in the northeast Florida region.

Membership is open to all interested people.
