Across from the Matanzas Bay, in the heart of St. Augustine’s historic district, sits the Bayfront Marin House. What started as a small, dilapidated building in 1788, slowly grew into a compound containing 3 distinct homes from some of St. Augustine’s most interesting eras.
By 1893, Captain Henry Belknap had begun the process of buying the homes, eventually merging them into the house you see today.
Now, the Bayfront Marin House boasts over a dozen beautifully decorated waterfront rooms, providing guests with a place to relax and enjoy some of the region’s most iconic views – like the Bridge of Lions and St. Augustine Lighthouse.
Also located in St. Augustine’s historic district, the Bayfront Westcott House has a long and storied past as a home and entertainment destination for the area’s elites. The house was built in 1880 as a luxury home for Dr. John Westcott, a prominent military man and land surveyor for the St. Johns Railroad. Over the years, the house has changed hands, but remained a popular hangout, becoming an inn in the 1970s.
The Bayfront Westcott House now operates as a 16-room, full-service luxury bed & breakfast, offering visitors a private getaway in one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods – just blocks away from bustling streets lined with shops, galleries and restaurants.
Centrally located in Downtown St. Augustine, The Casablanca Inn was built in 1914 by an architect known as Mr. Butler. The inn played an integral role in the prohibition era, as its original operator signaled approaching bootleggers from a second story window, letting them know it was safe to smuggle alcohol into the bay.
Today, the Casablanca Inn is home to 22 luxury rooms and suites that embrace modern amenities without sacrificing historical charm. Visitors who stay in the Secret Garden can enjoy a private, perfectly landscaped courtyard, while all guests of the Inn are invited to savor an evening at Tini-Martini Bar, an in-house martini bar that pays homage to the building’s scandalous past.
