This 33-acre parcel, purchased in 2004 with funding assistance from the Florida Communities Trust Florida Forever Program, is located in southern St. Johns County along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in the Shores Community along Christina Drive adjacent to the Riverview Club.

The park affords the visitor many opportunities to enjoy nature under the large oak hammock canopy, thus getting its name Canopy Shores Park. The park includes a 1.5-mile loop paved trail for walking, biking, and bird watching. Mutt Mitts are provided for those guests who like to walk with their canine companions.

Canopy Shores provides ample parking, restroom facilities, and a covered pavilion with picnic tables completed as part of Phase I improvements. Additional improvements will consist of trail fitness equipment, educational signage, a boardwalk with a scenic overlook, and a canoe/kayak platform.
