Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Pentecost Spirit Fest & Food Fair

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Pentecost Spirit Fest & Food Fair

Presented by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at Unknown

Share in The Spirit! Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church invites the public to join in the Pentecost Spirit Fest & Food Fair. Everyone is invited to “Come & See” the showcase of Orthodox Christianity in the local parish life and ministries through family fun, church tours, faithful witness, and explained worship throughout the weekend. Shop at our always-open Bookstore. Eat a wide variety of legacy-recipe cultural food favorites from 12pm-8pm on Saturday at YiaYia’s Kitchen. Enjoy favorite Greek cuisine and hospitality all weekend with plenty to “Opa!” about: Greek music, dance, sweet delights, coffee, and more. Tables are available in the fellowship hall and under the covered patio. Stock-up, even, or purchase food for take-out. Timed, pre-paid-and-packaged pick-up, and even drive-thru services can be arranged by request.

The weekend’s festivities are accented with continuous Church tours, sharing the Faith, and Festal schedule of worship. Great Vespers begin Saturday at 6pm after which dinner will be served until 8pm. On Pentecost Sunday morning, we will begin at 8:30am with the explanation of the Services of the Preparation of the Gifts, 9am Matins, and at 10am Divine Liturgy before enjoying a welcoming fellowship. YiaYia’s Kitchen opens from 12pm until 4pm Sunday .

We’ll close the celebration of our Church’s Feastday with the Pentecost Kneeling Vespers. Calling us in prayer “again on bended knee” for the first time since Christ’s Resurrection, three ancient prayers written by St. Basil the Great (ca. 330-370) seek the bestowing of gifts upon the world through the renewed Grace of Pentecost. The first two prayers are directed to the Holy Trinity without distinction between the Three Divine Persons; the next two, to God the Father; and the last three, to God the Son, Jesus Christ. Our voices join as with the estimated 260,000,000 Orthodox Christians worldwide, living by The Spirit in places of peace, poverty, oppression, and even persecution—yet saying, “Amen. Amen. Amen.”
