Mario Lanza: Hollywood Tenor

First Coast Opera celebrates the bright, but brief, career of the heartthrob star singer of the 1950’s. Tenor Samuel Hall, who starred in this summer’s Orlando Opera’s Student Prince, headlines as Lanza.  He will be joined by soprano Donata Cuccinotta, a Philadelphia native, like Mario, and returning FCO artist from Valdosta, GA, soprano Ronda & baritone Karl Paoletti.  Accompanied by Curtis Powell on piano, the concert will feature a combination of opera and popular selections which Lanza and contemporaries sang in his films.  In typical Mario Lanza fashion, the program will be dominated by lyric love songs
