Introduction to Ceramics with Cal Cook

Skill Level: Beginners

This course will focus on an introduction to the medium of ceramics, helping students develop a foundation of technical skills. Instruction will include the wheel throwing process and a variety of hand building techniques; including but not limited to: coil, slab, and pinch methods. This course will also highlight surface decoration through the use of glazes and underglazes. Intermediate students are welcome as well, but should anticipate basic course instruction.

*Select glazes are available for use at CCPV, but students are encouraged to purchase glazes that they enjoy. Supply List. * Tuition includes $35 in class firing fee.

Students are encouraged to practice ceramics outside of class hours. Open Studio hours are available. To learn more, go here.
