The Saint Augustine Concert Band’s season finale concert will feature some of the finest symphonic band music from around the world. Travel with the band on their musical journey as they visit countries crisscrossing the globe; performing outstanding music representing those locations.
The band first stops 9,000 miles away to Antarctica performing “The Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitaker. Next,10,000 miles to Hungary, performing the renowned dance piece “Puszta” by Jan Van der Roost. From there,1,300 miles to Ireland, performing the famous “Irish Tune from County Derry” by Percy Grainger. Head across the ocean 6,000 miles to Africa, where you’ll hear the rhythmic “Africa” by Jerry Davis. Fly 7,000 miles to Paris, France where you will be treated to “Galop from Genevieve de Brabant by Jacques Offenbach.
After a slight rest bit, hear “Arabian Dances” by Brian Balmages in India. From there the band crosses the ocean back to the state of Kentucky with the performance of “Songs Of Old Kentucky” and the tour will stop in New York City where the circuses first ruled in the performance of “The Black Mask March” by Henry Fillmore.
