Harry Green of the Amelia Island Museum of History will give “A Review of Jewish Influence in the Mid-Nineteenth Century South” with a focus on St. Augustine’s David Yulee, the first Jew to serve in the United States Senate. The event is sponsored by the St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society as part of the quest to understand the roles played by local Jews in pre-Civil War Florida.
