Share your polished poems or bust out fresh ink from your notebook during St. Augustine’s longest-running open mic poetry event. Invite a friend or two or three. Ancient City Poets has always been open to the public and there is no charge at the door to get your name on the list.
The April gathering will be the third in an eight-part series of monthly events celebrating creative writing and reciting presented by Ancient City Poets, Puddled Booking, and the St. Augustine PoetFest. This series is coordinated by Chris Bodor, in recognition of his role as the Beat Poet Laureate for the State of Florida. For more info on the National Beat Poet Foundation please check out their website.
National Beat Poetry Foundation’s Beat Poet Laureates are chosen by an anonymous group of people worldwide who contact ACP through email, messenger, and other social media outlets to give recommendations as to who they feel will best represent the new generation of Beat Poets in a respectful manner. Past and present Beat Laureates also lend their recommendations as well.
