The Ancient City Poets will host a community poetry open reading on Sunday, August 29th from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Kookaburra Dondi location (Dondanville Road, 4265 A1A South, St. Augustine).
Readers are invited to share poems on the theme of 12 years of Ancient City Poets, or your perspective on the local spoken word scene. Poems that speak of your love for the Ancient City Poets or how your life has changed since you found it.

The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook. Invite a friend or two or three to cheer you on.
A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 and the open mic will start at 3:00 PM. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet & greet and networking.

As a community of poets and poetry lovers, Ancient City Poets has been gathering on the last Sunday of the month in Saint Augustine, Florida since August of 2009. If you have ever gone to one of the monthly readings over the last nine years, you are welcome to invite your friends to come and check it out. ANCIENT CITY POETS ON YOUTUBE
Ancient City Poets have been working hard to document the local poetry scene here in Saint Augustine. They are always looking for college students and filmmakers with equipment who are interested in shooting footage at the readings.
The Ancient City Poets Youtube Channel was launched in April of 2018 for National Poetry Month to preserve its past. Subscribe to the channel so you can get notified whenever new footage is added.
