Ballet 101 with Canada's Ballet Jorgen

Ballet 101 with Canada’s Ballet Jorgen offers the opportunity to learn about ballet as a storytelling medium.  You will learn about the basic ballet positions and poses, conveying emotion through movement, and see brief selection of The Sleeping Beauty ballet performed by a few of the company’s professional dancers.  They will bring costumes and pointe shoes for the audience to see, and you may even get to try some steps!  This wonderful educational opportunity is part of Ballet Jorgen’s visit to St. Augustine sponsored by the EMMA Concert Association.  Come meet the dancers and join the fun, 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, at the River House, 179 Marine Street.  There is no charge, but a call to 209-3655 to reserve your seat would be appreciated.  Bring your questions about ballet!  Canada’s Ballet Jorgen will present the full-length ballet The Sleeping Beauty on Saturday, April 23, 7:30 p.m., at the Lewis Auditorium on the Flagler College campus.
