Brown Bag Lunch Program: Living On Purpose: The Life and Legacy of Stetson Kennedy

Former St. Augustine City Commissioner Sandra Parks will discuss Living on Purpose: the Life and Legacy of Stetson Kennedy at the March 14^th Brown Bag Lunch Program. Internationally known journalist/Civil Rights activist Stetson Kennedy developed Lake Beluthahatchee in Fruit Cove, the site of the only National Literary Landmark to be designated for two authors- Stetson and his friend folk singer Woody Guthrie, who wrote his autobiography on that site.

Parks, Kennedy’s widow, serves as chairman of the Stetson Kennedy Foundation and is the author of more than forty classroom books to improve students’ thinking skills. She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of South Florida, pursued doctoral studies at Indiana State University and earned an education specialist degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

The Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch Program is free and open to the public. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:30. Seating is limited. Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch.
