The Art Studio celebrates the instinctive and creative nature children have to offer. We are proud to have offered three free painting classes during the months of July and August for children ages 6-12. The classes were filled to the maximum capacity and attendees were not only local children but children from France and Germany as well. The Art Studio celebrates the instinctive and creative nature children have to offer. We are proud to have offered three free painting classes during the months of July and August for children ages 6-12. The classes were filled to the maximum capacity and attendees were not only local children but children from France and Germany as well. Instructors Nancy Willoughby and Cynthia Pierson, both members of The Art Studio along with Jackie Rock of Rock Art Studio gave the children the opportunity to produce large, colorful murals and canvas paintings with themes such as, “Painting What You Hear” which was done with music, “Ocean Creatures,” and “The Night Sky.” The Art Studio will carry on with our appreciation for children’s artwork in September as our featured artists for the month will be just that. Please join us on September 4th from 5pm to 9pm during the First Friday Art Walk as some of the work done during the summer classes will be showcased as well as other children’s pieces.
