First Friday Artwalk Featuring Lyn Asselta and the St Augustine Camera Club

Amiro Art + Design Gallery is featuring St Augustine Camera club, pastels by Lyn Asselta and Botanical Print Silk Scarves by Amy Hemphill Dove.

Amy Hemphill Dove is a fiber artist and a graduate in Textile Design from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, relocating to Florida in 2010.  Her botanical printed silks are created by layering prepared natural silk with the leaves, flowers and buds of various local plants.  The silk and plant material are bundled together, tightly bound and steamed.  This process creates a permanent transfer of pigment from the leaves to the silk. 

Many of the award winners from SACC’s Annual Juried Member Shows will be among the pictures on display.  The Saint Augustine Camera Club (SACC), founded September 2010, is dedicated to providing members with educational information and enjoyable activities in the field of photography. Also featured is pastel artist, Lyn Asselta. Lyn’s landscapes have been described as expressive, evocative and timeless. Her paintings are inspired by the environment around her, both natural and manmade, but she is particularly drawn to images that relay a sense of solitude and strength. A feature artist of the Jan/Feb 2016 issue of Pastel Journal, her work graced the cover.
