The North Florida Women’s Chorale will reprise its Christmas concert on Friday, January 1, 2016, 6:00 pm at the Cathedral Basilica’s
First Friday Art Walk Concert Series.
Come experience the Chorale’s harmonic sounds in this festively decorated, yet serene, setting. This program will reflect on the
Christmas season with ear-catching and soul-stirring arrangements of familiar songs and contemporary music of the holidays, such as Z.Randall Stroope’s wonderful Magnificat, and much-loved carols such as Carol of the Bells, Silent Night and the Nativity Carol.
The 30+-voice Women’s Chorale is in its 23nd performance year, its 9th under the direction of Kerry Fradley, who is also founder and director of the St Augustine Youth Chorus. The group performs regularly throughout the First Coast region, including public concerts at several Jacksonville churches; private venues such as the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Guild and Mayport Naval Air Station Wives Club special programs; and at the Cathedral Basilica of St Augustine’s First Friday ArtWalk Concert Series.
The Chorale will be accompanied on piano by St Augustine’s own Kathleen VandeBerg. The program will also feature
violin accompaniment of Edward Elgar’s The Snow, and Ola Gjeilo’s Tundra.
