Now is a great time to plant pumpkins, gourds, and squash in time for the holidays. Join the St. Johns County Agriculture Center on August 23rd to learn about pumpkin and winter squash production and processing. This is geared for small farmers and those new to producing Cucurbits in the Florida heat. Wendy and Prissy will focus on small, ornamental pumpkins, pie pumpkins, and winter squash. At the end of the program, seeds will be distributed from the UF/IFAS variety trial for you to test at home!
There’s also an optional field trip to the UF/IFAS Hastings research farm, and explore the pumpkin variety trial that morning.

11:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Recipe taste testing and distribution of pumpkin/squash seeds for YOU to take!
