Harvest Time at Fort Mose

As part of Florida Living History, Inc.’s (FLH’s) 2015 “St. Augustine’s 450th Anniversary” commemorations, FLH’s volunteers – in partnership with Fort Mose Historic State Park and the Fort Mose Historical Society – will present 18th-century, historical interpretation focusing on harvest-time in colonial Spanish Florida.  FLH volunteers will illustrate the food and foodways of 18th-century Fort Mose and St. Augustine.  Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first, legally sanctioned free black settlement in the continental U.S., established in 1738.
