History on the Streets Saunter

The historic reenactment community (through a partnership between the Historic Florida Militia, the City of Saint Augustine and the St John’s Cultural Council) will host a History on the Streets saunter along Saint George Street and the historic area in Saint Augustine.

Historically clad re-enactors and interpreters will walk around the city to share the rich and diverse history of St. Augustine with visitors and residents alike.

Participants can wear whatever historically accurate clothing from Saint Augustine’s past they choose. Historical accuracy is key: this allows interpreters to show visitors the difference between fact and fiction.

The saunter begins near the Spanish Bakery on St. George Street and takes place around the historic district to stop for photos and discussions .
