Improv Basics

Bring more joy, fun, and laughter into your life while learning to get out of your head and into the moment — while making new friends!
Throughout this 6-week Level 1 intro class, students will explore the basic concepts of improvisational theater in a warm, safe and supportive environment.

Improv Basics is designed to build self-confidence and explore creativity using the fundamentals of improvisation. Beneficial for both actors and non-actors, it will expose students to:

*Being – and responding – in the moment.
*Accepting and building on gifts from classmates.
*Embracing – and using – failure.
*Co-creating with others (listening, communicating, giving & taking focus).
*Thriving in an unscripted environment.

The class will introduce students to the organic side of spontaneous ensemble comedy and the teamwork that cooperative play requires.
Students leaving this course will have a working understanding of the basic fundamentals of improvisational theater as well as an increased appreciation, and comfort, with being on stage – and in life – without a script.

Start Date: Tuesday, October 18
End Date: Tuesday, November 22

All classes are 6:30 – 9 p.m. at Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine.

Early bird through October 11: $175
From October 12 – 17: $195
